Blog Etiquette 2010

*The blogspace is for placing your creative writing and inviting feedback on it. It is not for promoting your events, books, other artworks. Please use our facebook site for that.
*Remember to leave comments on other users' blogs. It makes the blogspace more of a conversation and less of a postboard.
*Check other users by name as well as 'recent posts'.
*One blog per week is good. Two is maximum.
*There is no upper limit to comments
*Blogs & comments may be edited.
* Bloggers should leave comments on others' work before blogging themselves.
*Blog once, comment twice, is a good rule of thumb.

Where Your Commonword Blogs Go
Your Blogs will go onto the commonwordblogs.org.uk site (ie here!) There is a feed from this site to Commonword's facebook site (search for 'Commonword Cultureword' in facebook to find us). In blogging here, you are therefore agreeing to being published via the feed to Commonword's facebook site. There are about 200 visitors a month to Commonwod's facebook site. To help facebook, you might want to add your name with the title eg 'Poem Title by Jo Briggs' rather than just 'Poem Title'. This way your name is fed to Commonword's facebook site, along with the poem.

screenshots?

Would it be helpful to have a step by step guide for people who are new to this blog/new to blogging in general? Maybe with some screenshots of the Commonword site?

I could draft something up if that would be useful. Let me know

Dear anon

I'm sorry too

Dear All at Commonword,

I sent a new poem earlier this week, entitled ' Why do Boys? And then it came up that it had to be checked before being added, which is usual. However, my poem never appeared on the recent posts.

I don't want to send it again just in case I duplicate.

Could you please check why this might have happened?

Best Wishes

Belinda Johnston

Hi Belinda

It is not in the queue, (unlike Mulberry Rose's) so I don't know. However, if you sign in, then the only prorammed reason a post does not make it to the blogsite is if you forget to click on the submit button: you get a 'check your text/preview ' screen first, then you click 'submit'. Your poem should then come up on the blogsite. Hope this helps. -pete

sorry all!

I am really new to the whole blog thing and made a few mistakes when posting work on here. Please don't think that I was over doing it deliberately or that I am not willing to contribute and feed back. I am, very willing to do these things. Sorry for being over enthuisiastic. Now I know the rules I will stay within them. Take care.
