Jordan, the model, paid out six thousand
At some lah-di-dah function - horses and stuff
They turned her down.
Is it that maybe, she hadn't paid them enough?
Then again
I recall a couple of years back
Having coughed-up twelve grand for a similar do
Was informed the tickets must have got lost in the post
I didn't fuss tho.
Would you?
It's only money.

i guess in some ways money can be a leveller insofar as it doesn't matter how famous you are if you can't pay your bills the bailiff still comes knocking on your door.
note to mr jackson, never say never in neverland
as an aside, money is an institution but an essentially undemocratic one. can you think of any examples of a truly democratic institution. the public road network the only one i can think of. maybe the phone network as well.
in which case the new democratic slogan:

One enthralling thing about
One enthralling thing about money is the power and Negative power it has. There's the poverty trap. But you can walk right over into a more solid prison than that with money which is extraordinary. I quoted earlier the guy who says 'I'm not happy'; billionaire he is. Freddy Mercury used to say the richer I get the more miserable I get.
Man!!I could hog this a lot longer but won't.
Maybe next time I've 12K burning a hole in my pocket I'll divi it up with my blog-mates.

There is a strange relationship between life, fame and money. I always rememebr that line 'we are born with nothing, we leave with nothing'. Proably misquoting someone but always thought it had a stark beauty and there was something farcial in accumulation per se!

aye, we're born with nothing. then some of us in our lives start at the bottom of the ladder and stay there, or if we're really gifted we start at the bottom of the ladder and work our way down.
